Rade & Me - Rade i ja
Well, yesterday was one of the greatest days this year, so far.
It started normally - getting up, having breakfast, going to work. Then about noon, the most gorgeous girl called me and said she'll be coming in 30 minutes time so I could help her with her exam. The exam will be on Tuesday, June 28th - her birthday (we met on my birthday, when she also came for some help with the same professor), and her professor is a good friend of mine who went to work at the other faculty (which she is attending). So, she came, I explained her what I could, and we agreed for me to come to the exam.
When I walked her off, I came back to work, stayed there an hour or two, and then remembered that Rade Serbedzija (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0784884/), the greatest Yugoslav actor will be signing his book at a bookshop here in Belgrade, and decided to go there.
Just a quick note, so you don't have to go to the imdb site: Rade Serbedzija starred alongside Tom Cruise in Stanley Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" and in "Mission Impossible II", beside Brad Pitt in "Snatch.", and with Val Kilmer in "The Saint", and of course so many Yugoslav films before the wars...I got myself a book, it costs about 5.5 euros, and went over to him to sign it. I just said my name, he looked at me with the most sincere smile, and in his incredibly sweet and warm voice, with a perfect rhythm said "To Marko", and signed his name. I asked him if I could take a picture of us together on my mobile phone, and he said "Of course!". But, as some girl I gave my mobile to do it tried it, some press came in, and she didn't have the chance. I went outside for a walk, and got back in about half an hour, asked one of the ladies that worked there to do it, and she did. At the end, Rade and me shook hands, and I went home, thinking how I met the person (a great person) who worked with Kubrick, Cruise, Pitt, Kilmer…
When I got there, I started reading it, just the few first pages, and it was great. I could almost hear his voice, incredible in every possible way...
